THREE COMMUNICATION MODES THROUGH WHICH YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM COMMUNICATES WITH THE ALARM CONTROL PANEL
In 2025, alarm companies use three modes of communication to enable communication between your alarm system and the control panel. Depending on your needs, it's important to choose the one that's right for you.
TELEPHONE LINE
The first and most popular mode of communication is via your landline. No matter which provider you use for your telecommunication services, alarm companies install a module that allows panel signals to take priority over telephone calls, so that alarm signals can be handled as quickly and instantaneously as possible.
WIFI OR IP
The second mode of communication, the one used by many retailers in the field today with interactive systems, consists of connecting it directly to your wifi or plugging it into your router. If you've already had a conventional security system for a few years that communicates via the telephone line, it probably won't be possible to convert it to work through your wifi. In a situation where your wifi doesn't offer you impeccable reliability and stability, this mode of communication may not be the best choice, since if your service is interrupted, your system will no longer communicate with the alarm control panel.
CELL LINE
The third mode of communication, which is also the most secure since it is completely independent of your telecommunication services, is cellular. In concrete terms, we install a module in your system that enables it to communicate with the control panel via a cellular line, just as if we were putting a cell phone directly into the system. This mode of communication is very popular these days, since it's virtually impossible to sabotage your system, and even if you run out of power, the alarm will be transmitted to the control panel because an emergency battery is included in all our installations, and the mode of communication is in the panel directly.
In the event that you wish to have your residential line disconnected because you no longer use it, it is possible for us to add the aforementioned cellular module to your existing system to achieve significant monthly savings on your telecom bill. Obviously, there are some exceptions if your system is more than 10 years old, but the price of a cellular module and its installation is often amortized quite quickly if disconnecting your landline generates savings of $25-30 per month on your telecom bill.
